Otium VVIP Phinisi Charter

Otium is a VVIP phinisi built from ironwood and teak, powered by a Yanmar engine supported by solar generators. It runs quiet 9-knot cruises across Komodo National Park, takes up to 12 guests in 6 ensuite cabins, and comes set up for diving, kayaking, paddleboarding, and wakeboarding on a single private charter.

About Otium

Otium sits in the VVIP tier of the Boat Komodo Trip fleet and is built around a simple idea: a small guest count on a large, well-equipped boat. The hull is ironwood and teak, the main engine is a Yanmar, and eco solar generators are used to reduce engine load during calm sections. Cruising speed is around 9 knots, which is the comfortable sweet spot for inter-island transits in the Komodo region without making the deck feel unsettled.

Cabin Layout for 12 Guests

Six cabins split into one Master Suite, one Queen Suite, and four Deluxe staterooms. Every cabin has an ensuite bathroom, so privacy holds up well with families or mixed groups. Maximum capacity is 12 guests, which keeps the crew-to-guest ratio and common area usage loose rather than crowded. Standard linens, towels, and turndown are part of the daily service.

Onboard Experience and Water Toys

Inside, Otium offers Wi-Fi, a sound system, an Xbox, and an espresso machine, along with yoga mats and on-board massage by appointment. On the water, the activity lineup is deliberately wide: kayaks and paddleboards for flat-water exploring, wakeboarding behind the tender, and scuba diving supported by the boat's own dive gear. Snorkeling equipment is standard for every guest. Life rafts, life vests, and satellite communication round out the safety brief.
