Semesta Phinisi Yacht
Semesta Phinisi Yacht launched in 2024 as one of the newest VIP additions to Komodo National Park's charter scene. With 8 cabins, capacity for 18 guests, and a layout that balances indoor refinement with open-air living, it is built for groups who want a current-generation Phinisi without giving up the warmth of traditional Indonesian boatbuilding.
A 2024 VIP Phinisi Built for Komodo
Semesta sits in the VIP class of Boat Komodo Trip's charter fleet, purpose-built in 2024 to sail Komodo Island and the wider marine park. The naming scheme across the cabins borrows from the solar system, with suites labelled Moon, Mars, Earth, Sun, Pluto, Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury. This theme carries through the interiors, where warm timber panelling, soft linens, and large windows give each cabin its own character while keeping a cohesive look across the vessel.
Every one of the eight cabins includes a private bathroom, so guests never have to negotiate schedules around shared facilities. The cabin range covers the Moon Owner Suite, Mars VIP Ocean Suite, Earth Master Balcony Suite, Sun Master Ocean Suite, Pluto and Venus Deluxe Suites, and the Jupiter and Mercury Superior Suites. Each layout is designed around a different guest profile, from couples wanting an owner-level retreat to friends sharing deluxe or superior rooms for a longer itinerary.
The boat is described by the operator as a 2024 build with top-tier facilities and expert-guided cruises. In practice that means guests get a vessel without the wear that older Phinisi often carry, paired with a crew that runs Komodo itineraries regularly through the season. It is a good fit for travellers who want a new boat with a familiar Phinisi silhouette.
Living Spaces, Dining, and Sun Deck
Semesta's deck plan uses three distinct social zones. The indoor dining room handles breakfast, lunch, and dinner in air-conditioned comfort, useful on hot afternoons or during short rain showers. An outdoor dining area lets the same crew serve meals under the stars, with Komodo's cliffs or anchorage lights as the backdrop. Between the two, the spacious sun deck becomes the default daytime zone for sunbathing, reading, or simply watching the park drift past.
Meals lean on the onboard chef and the operator's gourmet dining positioning. Expect a mix of Indonesian dishes and more familiar Western staples, with dietary preferences handled if communicated at booking. Throughout the day the galley keeps drinks and light refreshments within reach, so the social rhythm rarely has to pause for a snack run.
For activity, Semesta supports the full Komodo programme out of Labuan Bajo. Diving, snorkeling, and exploration of the park's reefs sit at the core of the daily schedule, along with island trekking on Padar, Komodo, and Rinca. Semesta's size comfortably hosts the 18-guest maximum without feeling crowded, which makes it equally suited to extended families, corporate groups, or friend pods travelling together.
Fit for Open and Private Charter
Semesta runs both as an open-share trip and as a full private charter. The standard 3D2N Open/Share itinerary covers Kelor Island, Manjarite, Kalong Island for the sunset bat migration, Padar Island trekking, Pink Beach, Komodo Island dragon trekking, Manta Point, Taka Makassar, and Sebayur Island snorkeling on the final morning. Pick-up from Labuan Bajo hotels or the airport is included, with drop-off back to the mainland after breakfast on day three.
For private groups the same route stretches into 4D3N or longer, with flexibility in timing and additional stops such as Siaba Island. Inclusions cover stay on the boat, meals, mineral water, tea and coffee, guiding, snorkeling gear, and life vests, plus premium raw documentation using drone, GoPro, and mirrorless cameras. The Komodo National Park entrance fee and drone permit (estimated IDR 2,100,000 per unit per day) are paid separately.
Semesta is a strong pick if you want a newer-generation VIP Phinisi with private bathrooms in every cabin, three dining zones, and a tested crew that already knows every stop on the standard Komodo loop. Groups of 12 to 18 tend to get the best value from private charter, while couples and small parties benefit from the open-trip pricing on shared dates.
