Terms of Service

These terms apply to every booking made with Boat Komodo Trip. Reading them carefully before you confirm helps set clear expectations for your charter, any pre-trip changes, and situations our team handles on your behalf.

1. Booking and Confirmation

A booking is considered confirmed only after we receive your signed charter agreement and the specified deposit. Until both are in place, any quoted rate, cabin allocation, and itinerary remain provisional. Prices are in the currency stated on your quote and reflect taxes as disclosed.

All names on the manifest must match passport or government ID. You are responsible for ensuring guest names are accurate at least 14 days before departure; later corrections may incur administrative fees or, in some jurisdictions, re-issuance charges.

2. Payment Schedule

Standard payment structure is a non-refundable deposit at booking and balance due before embarkation. Specific percentages and due dates are stated in your individual charter agreement and take precedence over any general statement here.

We accept international bank transfers and a select group of credit cards. Bank charges, currency-conversion differences, and third-party processor fees are the guest's responsibility.

3. Changes and Cancellations

We understand plans change. Requests to modify dates, guest count, or itinerary are reviewed individually and depend on vessel availability. Deposits are transferable to a future date within 12 months, subject to fleet availability and any seasonal rate difference.

If you need to cancel, written notice is required. Refund eligibility depends on how far in advance cancellation is received, detailed in your charter agreement. Travel insurance that covers trip cancellation is strongly recommended.

4. Force Majeure

Sailing schedules in Indonesian waters may be affected by weather, sea conditions, national park regulations, or events beyond our control. If a trip cannot proceed safely as planned, we will offer the nearest practical alternative — a revised route, a substitute vessel of equivalent class, or rescheduling. We do not assume liability for government-ordered closures, natural events, or acts beyond reasonable human control.

5. Onboard Conduct and Safety

Every guest must follow the captain's safety briefing, the dive master's protocols, and crew instructions. The captain has final authority on all matters of safety and navigation, including the right to refuse boarding or diving to any guest whose behaviour risks the safety of others or the vessel.

Illegal drugs, firearms, and activities that violate Indonesian law are prohibited onboard. Alcohol is served at the captain's discretion and in moderation.

6. Liability

Yacht charter involves inherent risks connected to sea travel, diving, and remote locations. Guests participate in activities at their own risk. We carry operator insurance consistent with Indonesian maritime regulations, but we strongly recommend comprehensive travel and medical insurance for every guest.

We are not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property onboard. Valuables should be stored in cabin safes where provided.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I confirm a booking?
Return your signed charter agreement together with the deposit transfer. We will send a written confirmation within one business day of receiving both.
Can I change my dates after booking?
Yes, subject to availability. Date changes within 12 months of the original sail date usually incur no fee beyond any seasonal rate difference.
What if the weather forces a change?
Safety is the captain's call. If conditions require it, we offer a revised route or rescheduling. Force majeure events are not refundable but are normally covered by comprehensive travel insurance.
Do I need travel insurance?
Strongly recommended. Sea travel, diving, and remote destinations carry inherent risks that travel insurance is designed to cover.
