Si Datu Bua Liveaboard Private Charter in Raja Ampat

Si Datu Bua is a VVIP phinisi built by Silolona Sojourns with Konjo boatbuilders in Sulawesi and designed by Seery Yacht Design. In Raja Ampat the vessel sails as a private liveaboard for up to six guests across three named suites. Operations run out of Sorong, and every itinerary is planned one-to-one with the Boat Komodo Trip team so the group can balance diving, snorkelling, island walks and long quiet stretches on deck.

Cabins and onboard layout

Accommodation is organised across three suites named after Indonesian regions: Banda, Toraja and Celebes. Each suite has its own ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and strong cross-ventilation. The main deck lounge opens onto an al fresco dining area so meals can shift with the weather, and the foredeck is set up for sunrise yoga, afternoon reading and evening star-watching. Because occupancy tops out at six, the boat never feels crowded, which suits families travelling multi-generation or two couples on a shared trip.

Diving, water sports and connectivity

Scuba diving for certified guests is included in the rate, along with wetsuits, a full kit of snorkel gear, sea kayaks, water skis, wakeboards, paddle surfs, swept-wing towing toys and fishing gear. Starlink keeps a low-latency internet signal running even between the Dampier Strait, Misool and the Wayag passage, which matters for guests who need to stay in touch between dives. An onboard therapist offers unlimited massage and spa sessions, and personal laundry is handled quietly by the crew.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many guests can Si Datu Bua host in Raja Ampat?
The liveaboard has three suites (Banda, Toraja and Celebes) and takes a maximum of six adult guests for a private charter. This keeps the guest-to-crew ratio high and lets the itinerary flex toward the group's pace.
What is the starting price and what does it include?
The base rate starts from USD 12,000 per night plus 12% VAT. It includes meals, local beverages, Starlink, dive gear, water toys, unlimited massage, laundry, crew service and 50 nautical miles per day.
Where does the Raja Ampat charter start?
All Raja Ampat charters begin and end in Sorong (SOQ), West Papua. Transfers between the airport, yacht and partner hotels are handled by the onboard team on the standard embarkation day.
Is diving insurance required?
Yes. Dive insurance is mandatory for any guest entering the water with tanks. Travel insurance is also strongly recommended, and both are paid separately from the charter rate.
What is the cancellation policy?
Bookings are held with a 50% non-refundable deposit. Full payment is due 14 days before the departure date, and trips booked inside that window must be paid in full at confirmation. Participant cancellation does not generate a refund, though a replacement guest is allowed.
