Manta Mae Raja Ampat Liveaboard Charter
Manta Mae is a 30-metre super yacht built in 2014 with a phinisi-inspired hull that reflects Indonesia's maritime heritage. Configured for Raja Ampat liveaboard charters, she hosts up to 12 guests across 5 cabins — a master suite, two double rooms, and a bunk room — supported by a professional crew of 8. Operated by Boat Komodo Trip from Sorong, Manta Mae is set up for guests who want a private super-yacht experience with serious dive and water-sports capability across Raja Ampat's most-travelled waters, with a 2026 charter rate starting from USD 4,200 per night.
Vessel Build and Layout
Manta Mae was built in 2014 as a super yacht that still takes visual cues from traditional phinisi proportions. Her 30-metre hull sits in a practical range for Raja Ampat, large enough to carry a full tender fleet and dive support, but nimble enough to move between karst-channel anchorages without excessive transit times. The cabin plan is one master suite, two double rooms, and one bunk room, which gives a family or a small group a clear primary cabin plus flexibility for friends or older children. The lounge saloon runs air conditioning, a 60-inch LED TV, Hi-Fi stereo, library, computer centre, and a coffee and tea bar for downtime at anchor.
Water Sports and Dive Capability
Manta Mae carries a full water-sports stack, and that is where she separates from simpler phinisi conversions. The inventory includes 3 stand-up paddleboards, 4 sea kayaks, a comprehensive dive shop, and two high-performance RIB tenders for dive drops and fast transfers. Available activities cover wakeboarding, waterskiing, fishing, and underwater sea scooter exploration. For certified divers, the onboard dive shop means dive operations can be handled directly from the boat rather than coordinated with external operators, which is an advantage for multi-day liveaboard trips and photography-focused itineraries.
Cruising Speed and Open-Deck Living
Manta Mae cruises at 8 knots, a steady pace that matches Raja Ampat's patchwork of reef passages, open water, and sheltered bays. The expansive main deck is the primary living space, used for outdoor dining, sunbathing, and gathering between activity slots. The lounge saloon offers an air-conditioned retreat when the afternoon sun gets intense or when the group wants to review dive footage or settle in with the library. The setup suits both couples looking for a slower rhythm and families that cycle quickly through paddle, kayak, snorkel, and dive sessions across a single day.
Raja Ampat Destinations
The charter typically covers the core Raja Ampat circuit with stops at Dafalen, Timbul Sand, Sauwandarek, Harfat, Wayag Island, and Piaynemo. These sites deliver the experience most travellers come to Raja Ampat for: the Wayag and Piaynemo karst viewpoints, the village-and-reef combination at Sauwandarek, and the open sandbar moments at Timbul Sand. The 2026 charter rate starts from USD 4,200 per night. Additional per-person fees apply for specific add-ons, with reference rates of USD 200, USD 50, and USD 150 listed on the published price sheet for individual services such as gear rental and permits.
