Leyla Phinisi Charter in Komodo National Park

Leyla is a 25-metre by 7-metre Phinisi in the VIP class, built for small-group charters through Komodo National Park. She welcomes up to 11 guests in four private cabins with ensuite bathrooms, and is a fit for couples, families, and small friend groups who want their own boat without stepping into the VVIP price bracket. With Boat Komodo Trip handling logistics from Labuan Bajo, Leyla is positioned for intimate three-day itineraries that cover Kelor, Padar, Komodo Island, Manta Point, Pink Beach, Taka Makassar, and Sebayur.

Vessel Specifications and Performance

Leyla measures 25 metres in length with a 7-metre beam, giving the deck enough room for a family group to spread out without feeling packed in. Power comes from a Doosan HD Marine 285 horsepower engine, and the boat runs at cruising speeds between 7 and 9.5 knots. Navigation is handled by Garmin GPS and HD radar, which keeps the captain oriented through the park's narrow channels and around the stronger currents that run between Rinca and Komodo. The combination of a seasoned crew, radar-assisted routing, and a compact 11-guest load means shorter transit times between dive sites and a smoother ride during afternoon swells.

Cabins and Onboard Comfort

The layout centres on four private cabins, each with its own ensuite bathroom. Capacity is capped at 11 guests, which keeps the bathroom-to-guest ratio comfortable and avoids the morning queues common on larger shared liveaboards. Meals are served onboard with ocean views from the dining area, and the open deck is the natural gathering point for coffee at sunrise, snorkelling breaks, and dinners under Kalong's bat-filled sky. Leyla is set up for a private charter rhythm rather than a fixed open-trip schedule, so the itinerary can flex around guest preferences within the standard Komodo route.

Three-Day Komodo Itinerary at a Glance

Day one begins with a hotel or airport pickup in Labuan Bajo, then sails to Kelor Island for trekking and a photo session before lunch. The afternoon moves to Manjarite for snorkelling and ends at Kalong Island for the bat migration at sunset, followed by dinner onboard. Day two starts early with the Padar Island trek, breakfast at Pink Beach, the Komodo Island ranger walk to see the dragons, and snorkelling at Manta Point and Taka Makassar. Day three is a sunrise breakfast, a final snorkel at Sebayur Island, and the return to Labuan Bajo before lunch. Destinations can be adjusted when weather or sea conditions require it, which is a standard safety call rather than an itinerary change.

What's Included and What to Bring

The charter covers full-board stay on the boat, all meals during the trip, mineral water, coffee, and tea, a guide, snorkelling gear, life vests, and premium documentation with drone, GoPro, and mirrorless raw footage. Airport or hotel transfers are provided within Labuan Bajo mainland near the harbour. Excluded items include flight tickets, crew gratuities, alcohol and soft drinks, personal snacks, the Komodo National Park fee (subject to government regulation at time of travel), and the drone permit fee, estimated at IDR 2,100,000 per unit per day when requested. Pack sunblock, a beach hat, hiking sandals for Padar and Komodo, swimwear, a dry bag, a power bank, personal medicine, and a Telkomsel SIM for basic coverage between islands.

Booking, Payment, and Cancellation Terms

Availability is confirmed first, followed by the registration form and a 50 percent non-refundable deposit to hold the date. The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before departure; trips booked inside 30 days require full payment at confirmation. For bookings placed a year ahead, a 30 percent deposit locks in the charter, with an additional 20 percent due 120 days out and the balance at the 30-day mark. Cancellations within 30 days of departure forfeit 100 percent of the payment, though a replacement participant may be nominated. Force majeure events such as severe weather, flight cancellations, or government restrictions may change or cancel the trip without a refund, in line with standard Indonesian charter practice.
