Ayvara Cruises
Ayvara Cruises opens a composed, VIP-class doorway into Komodo National Park. Sailing with 7 ocean-view cabins, a full 360-degree rooftop deck and Starlink onboard, this phinisi carries up to 15 guests per charter and pairs traditional wooden craftsmanship with the everyday comforts modern travellers actually use. Whether your plan is family time, a milestone trip or a working week at sea, Ayvara keeps the focus on the islands.
What Ayvara Cruises Is Built For
Ayvara is a wooden phinisi purpose-built for travellers who want space, privacy and a proper connection to the Komodo archipelago without the scale of a giant liveaboard. With only 15 guests onboard per charter, the vessel feels intentionally uncrowded, which matters when you are sharing the sundeck at sunset, walking the narrow ridge trail on Padar, or coming back on the tender after snorkeling at Manta Point.
The design language is straightforward: luxurious wooden interiors that lean into the traditional phinisi heritage, paired with contemporary details like floor-to-ceiling windows and quiet air conditioning. There is an expansive shaded sundeck for lazy afternoons and a fully equipped indoor dining area for meals, briefings and evenings when you just want to stay inside with the rest of the group. It is a boat that works equally well for celebrations, honeymoons and multigenerational family charters.
Operationally, Ayvara Cruises launched for guests from 1 August 2025 and runs both private charters and scheduled 3D2N open trips on weekends and weekdays through 2026 and 2027, departing Labuan Bajo.
Cabins and Onboard Layout
Ayvara offers 7 exclusive ocean-view cabins, all with quiet air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, premium bedding and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Komodo.
- Master Suite: A private balcony cabin, ideal if you want to watch dolphins pass during the morning reposition. - Deluxe Cabins (2): Each with a private balcony for sunset views and evening downtime. - Superior Cabins (4): Large panoramic windows, comfortable queen beds and full ocean vistas, suitable for couples or solo travellers joining a share trip.
Beyond the cabins, the centrepiece of the boat is the spectacular 360-degree rooftop deck. It is where most guests end up at sunrise and sunset, and it works just as well as a photography platform or a quiet reading spot between sailings. Starlink keeps the boat connected for guests who need to stay in touch, share media, or keep a light work rhythm during the trip.
A Typical Day on a Komodo Itinerary
On a standard 3D2N Komodo open trip, Ayvara collects guests from hotels or the airport in the Labuan Bajo mainland area near the harbour from around 09:00, then sails for Kelor Island. The first day combines a short trek and photo session on Kelor with snorkeling around Manjarite and a sunset anchor at Kalong Island to watch flying foxes rise over the mangroves before dinner back on board.
Day two is the classic Komodo line-up: a dawn trek on Padar Island, breakfast on the boat, time at Pink Beach, a walk to meet the Komodo dragons on Komodo Island, snorkeling with manta rays at Manta Point and a final stop at Taka Makassar sandbar before sunset. The final morning is a calmer sunrise and light snorkel around Sebayur Island before returning to Labuan Bajo harbour.
Meals, mineral water, coffee and tea, snorkeling gear, life vests and a guide are included, along with premium documentation with drone, GoPro and mirrorless (raw footage only). Pick-up and drop-off between Ayvara, Malca Voyages and Catnazse Phinisi charters is scheduled between 08:00 and 09:00 within the Labuan Bajo mainland area near the harbour. Accommodation on outer islands and in the Manjaga area is not covered.
Bookings, Payments and Planning Notes
Private charter bookings on Ayvara Cruises require availability confirmation, a completed registration form and a 50 percent deposit to secure the trip. The deposit is non-refundable if guests cancel. The balance is due at least 30 days before departure, or in full if the booking is made within 30 days of the trip.
Komodo National Park entry tickets, crew gratuities, flights, personal expenses, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and personal snacks are excluded. Park tickets follow prevailing government regulations. If you are planning to fly a drone inside the park, a permit must be requested 7 days before the trip and the current estimated cost is IDR 2,100,000 per unit per day.
Payment confirmation is completed via WhatsApp to Boat Komodo Trip at +62 811-3823-875 by sending the payment receipt. Direct flights to Labuan Bajo (LBJ) run from Jakarta (CGK) with Garuda Indonesia, AirAsia, Citilink and Batik Air, with one-stop options via Surabaya or Bali for more routing flexibility.
