Gamala Cruise Phinisi Charter: 8 Cabins, 16 Guests

Gamala Cruise Phinisi is one of the rare Deluxe-class boats that actually has the cabin count to run as a proper family plus friends trip. Refurbished and updated for current charter standards, she is 18 metres long with an unusually wide 8-metre beam, which translates into eight cabins and comfortable sleeping for 16 guests. Two of those cabins have private balconies, a feature normally reserved for larger VIP boats. The result is a charter that is social rather than intimate: loud dinners, shared karaoke nights, and plenty of space between siblings in different cabins.

About Gamala Cruise Phinisi

Gamala's wide beam is the single detail that shapes how she feels on board. At 8 metres across with an 18-metre length, her proportions favour deck space and cabin volume over long, narrow corridors. The refit reworked the cabins to give each one real air conditioning, its own private bathroom, and enough room for a full-size bed rather than the bunks you sometimes find on older Phinisis. Guests spend daytime hours split between the wide sundeck and the covered lounge, and the boat is often booked by multi-generational families where grandparents prefer shaded seating while younger guests chase sunbathing and swim stops.

Cabins, Balconies and Entertainment

Eight cabins cover a Master Cabin with its own balcony, a second Master Cabin without balcony, and six additional cabins configured for friends, couples and siblings. The two balcony cabins are the best in the house, with direct views straight out to the water at anchor. All cabins are air-conditioned with private bathrooms. On deck, Gamala offers complimentary snorkeling gear, a karaoke set-up for evenings, bean bag lounging on the upper deck, and a dining area that can seat the full guest manifest in one go. The feel is social and slightly playful rather than minimalist-luxury.

Komodo Itinerary Highlights

Typical itineraries from Labuan Bajo include the standard Deluxe-class rotation: Kelor Island for a warm-up trek, Manjarite for snorkeling over shallow reef, Kalong Island for the sunset bat flyover, then the headline day covering Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island with a dragon trek, Manta Point and Taka Makassar. Gamala's size gives her enough stability to anchor overnight near Kalong without rolling, which matters when you are trying to eat dinner with drinks on the table. Itineraries are weather-dependent and can be restructured if sea conditions require it.
