Lamain Voyage 2 Liveaboard: Raja Ampat VIP Phinisi with Master Jacuzzi
Lamain Voyage 2 operates as a VIP liveaboard across Raja Ampat under Boat Komodo Trip, purpose-built from premium ironwood and teak for long-range cruising in eastern Indonesia. The vessel accommodates 16 to 20 passengers in 8 cabins, powered by a Yanmar engine, with 8,000 litres per day of on-board fresh water production. Cruising speed runs at 10 to 12 knots, and a 50hp Yamaha dinghy handles reef drops at Wayag, Piaynemo, and Misool. Full-boat charter rates start from USD 9,650 per night, and the trip usually departs from Sorong (SOQ) for 8D7N to 12D11N routes.
Vessel Build and Cabin Configuration
The hull is ironwood and teak, two of the most durable Indonesian boat-building timbers, which matters for a Raja Ampat vessel that spends weeks between ports. Eight cabins are split into four categories: Master Cabin (with private jacuzzi), VIP Cabin, Deluxe Cabin, and Superior Cabin. Total capacity is 20 guests, and the Master Cabin is typically allocated to the lead couple or charter host. Every cabin has an en-suite bathroom and individually controlled air conditioning. Public spaces include outdoor dining under the stars, a sundeck, an indoor air-conditioned dining lounge, and a bar area for evening briefings after multi-dive days.
Raja Ampat Routing from Sorong
Raja Ampat trips depart Sorong (SOQ), reachable by direct flights from Bali (DPS), Jakarta (CGK), Surabaya (SUB), and Makassar (UPG) on Garuda Indonesia, Pelita Air, Sriwijaya Air, Lion Air, Batik Air, and Citilink. Because morning departures are tight, Boat Komodo Trip recommends arriving one day early and staying at Koprak Resort, D Coral Paradise Resort, or Meridian. The cruising route covers Dafalen, Timbul Sand (the floating sandbar), Sauwandarek village, Harfat viewpoint, Wayag Island's karst lagoon, and Piaynemo. On 9D8N to 12D11N itineraries, departures happen on the final day; 8D7N trips require staying one extra night in Sorong.
Diving, Snorkelling, and Onboard Equipment
The boat is set up for dive-focused liveaboard trips. Standard dive rental equipment is included on private charters, along with kayaks, paddle boards, snorkelling gear, and a 50hp dinghy for drop-offs at Blue Magic, Cape Kri, and Manta Sandy. Wi-Fi is available on board, though speeds vary between archipelago zones. Meals are prepared daily with snacks between dives, and soft drinks, fresh juice, coffee, and tea are included throughout the trip. Spirits, alcohol, mocktails, and smoothies are charged separately, and photo and video documentation are booked as an add-on.
What the Liveaboard Rate Includes
Included in the charter rate: the Phinisi with full crew and all onboard facilities, three meals per day with snacks, soft drinks, fresh juices, coffee and tea, land and sea excursions, national park entrance fees, kayaks and paddle boards, snorkelling equipment, dive rental equipment (standard set, private charter only), pickup and harbour transfers, and onboard Wi-Fi. Excluded: international and domestic flights, visas, travel and medical insurance, professional photo and video, spirits and alcoholic drinks, mocktails and smoothies, pre and post-trip accommodation, personal expenses, onboard massage and laundry, dive and travel insurance, and crew gratuities.
Deposit Schedule, Cancellation, and Arrival Tips
A 50 percent deposit confirms the booking, with the balance due 14 days before departure. Bookings inside 14 days require full payment at reservation. Cancellations forfeit the deposit at any stage and cannot be refunded, rescheduled, or transferred to another trip, though guests may nominate a replacement. Force majeure events (weather, government restrictions, disease outbreak) may cancel the trip without refund. Late arrivals that disrupt the itinerary are treated as resignation without refund. All participants should arrive in Sorong the day before the cruise begins to allow for flight delays, and a Telkomsel SIM card is recommended for connectivity outside the boat.
