Berdikari 2: Raja Ampat Speedboat Charter for Groups of Fifteen to Twenty

Berdikari 2 is a charter speedboat based in Sorong, tailored for groups of 15-20 guests running day trips or short hops through Raja Ampat's central archipelago. The boat is fitted with air conditioning and modern toilet facilities, the two practical upgrades that make the difference on a six-hour day out of Waisai. Daily rates start from IDR 3,730,000, positioning Berdikari 2 a notch below Berdikari 1 on price while covering the same core island cluster.

Layout and Onboard Facilities

The Berdikari 2 cabin holds 15-20 guests with bench seating, a covered roof, and climate control to offset the equatorial heat. Air conditioning isn't a luxury in Raja Ampat; by 10 am the sun is strong enough that an uncooled cabin becomes uncomfortable fast, especially for older guests or young children. The onboard toilet facility is functional marine spec, enough to handle day trips between snorkel stops without the group needing to rush back to port. The open deck areas give room for camera gear, dry bags, and snorkel kits, though storage is limited compared to a liveaboard. For the standard Piaynemo-Sauwandarek-Harfat day loop or a Wayag push, the layout works efficiently. The boat is not configured as a dive-dedicated vessel; there is no compressor or tank rack, so dive groups travel with external equipment.

Who Should Book Berdikari 2

Berdikari 2 makes sense for three guest profiles. First, mid-sized family or friend groups of 15-20 who want to see Raja Ampat without committing to a multi-night liveaboard budget. Second, corporate groups running a two- or three-day offsite, staying in land-based resorts and using the speedboat for daily excursions. Third, photography and content-creation groups where fast transits between viewpoints matter more than onboard accommodation. Honeymooning couples usually prefer smaller craft, and serious divers typically book dedicated dive vessels with compressor and gear setup. For a day-run format across Piaynemo, Sauwandarek, and Harfat, or a two-day push toward Misool's fringes, Berdikari 2 keeps pace with the itinerary and frees the budget for land-based accommodation at resorts like Koprak, D Coral Paradise, or Meridian.

Itinerary Options and Inclusions

Typical charter days begin with a hotel or airport shuttle to the Sorong speedboat terminal, transfer across to Waisai, and then departure into the archipelago. The inclusion list covers the speedboat itself, airport and hotel transfers to port both ways, meals and drinks during the trip, a tour guide, documentation, entrance fees for tourist destinations, and snorkelling equipment. Lodging is included on any trip longer than one day. Excluded items are crew tips, flight tickets, and the Raja Ampat PIN entrance tax, which sits at IDR 500,000 for Indonesian citizens and IDR 1,000,000 for foreign guests. Booking requires a 50% deposit, with the balance due 14 days before the trip. Charters booked within 14 days of departure must be paid in full at confirmation. Rates are reviewed annually and may shift if fuel prices or government regulations change.

Getting to Sorong and Departure Logistics

All Berdikari 2 charters start from Sorong, accessible via Domine Eduard Osok Airport (SOQ). Direct flights run from Bali (DPS), Jakarta (CGK), Surabaya (SUB), and Makassar (UPG) on Garuda Indonesia, Pelita Air, Sriwijaya Air, Lion Air, Batik Air, and Citilink. Flight schedules shift seasonally, so check connections carefully when booking. Guests on morning-start trips should plan to land in Sorong at least one day before the first trip day; a delayed flight can otherwise collapse the itinerary. For 9D8N through 12D11N packages, departures can be arranged on the final trip day with flights timed to the schedule; on an 8D7N package, plan for one extra hotel night after the trip ends. Koprak Resort, D Coral Paradise Resort, and Meridian are the commonly used properties near the terminal.
