A schoolgirl, her backpack bouncing with each step, walked briskly toward her school, her morning journey filled with purpose. Nearby, some people were out for a morning run, energizing themselves as the town slowly woke up. The soft sand underfoot and the rugged beauty of the island’s terrain immediately took my breath away.
